Leading Self
LeadingSelf means understanding the inner workings of your mind and how your mind impacts your actions. To do this, you must become conscious. This means understanding how your actions and behaviours impact other people and the environment, and how your thoughts and beliefs impact your physical and mental health.
In addition, you will need to understand what fear-based beliefs are holding you back, and how to master those fears so you can embrace your authentic self: Only when you have learned personal mastery (manage your fears) can you begin to fulfill you potential.
This corresponds to the fourth sage of personal development – the individuating stage. Some people begin to individuate in their 20s or 30s; some start in the40s. However, most people never get to this stage of development.
After you have learned to individuate, you move to the self-actualizing stage of development. This stage of personal development usually starts in your 40s. To fully self-actualize you must find a sense of meaning and purpose for your life– you must find the work you were born to do. Only when you have found your purpose, can you move to the higher stages of development and live a fulfilling life.
